Visit of Archives

Part of the SATL project is the development of a database that will make case law dealing with antisemitic incidents available to the public: Since July 2021, the research team has been collecting and analyzing court cases dealing with antisemitic acts in Germany, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom since 1945. Our team relies on several different strategies to find relevant court cases: Searching legal databases and law reports, obtaining court documents from courts and prosecutors’ offices, and accessing court documents in archives.

In November, we visited two archives in Saxony, Leipzig and Dresden, to locate court decisions. We are currently processing the files we found and look forward to publishing some of them in the near future.
